BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - A generous donation to Bainbridge Public Safety officers will help speed up response times.
An anonymous business owner gave $6,000 to buy new Automated Electronic Defibrillators.
Each AED provides step-by-step instructions for emergency responders while they check a patient's vital signs.
Major Doyle Welch said, “If we get a call that someone's gone into cardiac arrest, or someone is unresponsive, our units can be there within minutes.”
Each AED is compatible with the department's ambulances and will be installed in each of their three coverage zones.
