VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A Valdosta drug store was offering South Georgians an opportunity to get healthier for free.
Friday, Chancy Drugs was preparing for its first ever free health and wellness clinic Saturday.
The South Georgia Association of Nurse Practitioners partnered with the store for the event to offer free check ups, screenings, and answer any medical questions citizens may have.
Dentists were also scheduled be on hand to do check ups and give out free toothbrushes and toothpaste.
"Bring your family. C'mon! Come join us, learn about your health," said Nurse Practitioner Brandy McCrary. "That's the biggest thing; learning about your health, educating people in the right direction."
State Representative from Valdosta, Dexter Sharper, was also at the pharmacy Friday to express his support of the event. "I'm excited about it because if you have a healthy community, then you have a great community. I give thumbs up to Chancy Drugs and the South Georgia Association of Nurse Practitioners for what they're doin'" said Rep. Sharper.
The event was scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to noon at Chancy Drugs, located at 2333 N. Ashley St. in Valdosta.
