Man, woman identified in Dawson traffic stop

DAWSON, GA (WALB) - Two people have been taken into custody, after a traffic stop in Dawson.

Georgia State Patrol troopers, Terrell County deputies, and Dawson Police officers were on the scene near the McDonald's on Highway 520.

Authorities say 26-year-old Jameilah James was driving, and wouldn't pull over right away, though she never increased her speed. 

Officers found marijuana on the passenger, 19-year-old Joshua Gibson, who turned out to be a wanted person.  He's charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. There are holds on him from Gainesville, for probation violation, and Atlanta for larceny. He's from Atlanta.

James is charged with driving with a suspended license, DUI and giving false information. She's from Ohio.

The initial traffic stop was for a seat belt violation and a cracked windshield.

The Georgia State Patrol is working the case.
