ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany's State Legislators agree by working well together under the Gold Dome they have been able to accomplish some of their goals for the region.
The Albany legislators met with business leaders Thursday at the Albany Chamber of Commerce luncheon, talking economic development and future goals.
The legislators said by putting aside party differences, they were able to pass projects like new buildings at Albany State and Darton State College through the state budget.
"Understanding the process and I think with that, we are putting ourselves in the position to do some great things for our community," said Rep. Winfred Dukes (D) Albany, District 154.
"Not only in Dougherty County and this area, but we reached out to Thomasville and we reached out to Bainbridge. To all of these areas and we sorta work together to secure things for the region," said Rep. Gerald Greene (R) Albany, District 151.
The legislators say their experience as a group in the government process is a big asset for South Georgia.
