ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A former Albany Technical College temporary service employee has been arrested for stealing thousands of dollars from the college.
Taijuanna Johnson was arrested by Albany State University Police and charged with 17 counts of theft by conversion.
Investigators said cash and money orders were missing from Albany Tech's forklift program where Johnson worked.
Police began their investigation in February when Johnson suddenly left.
"We did an investigation of it. The person, the suspect they told us about, we never did get a chance to interview her because she left the building the day of the incident," said Lt. Roychard Hill with ASU Police.
ASU officers handle security at Albany Tech, so that's why they handled this investigation.
Johnson is being held without bond at the Dougherty County Jail.
