THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A Thomas county woman is free on bond after narcotics agents said she stole morphine from an animal hospital where she worked.
Sheila Gailey, 39, was arrested Monday outside Thomasville Animal Hospital on Smith Avenue.
Employees notified officers after they noticed narcotics missing.
Agents set up surveillance and linked Gailey to the missing drugs.
Thomas county Narcotics Commander Kevin Lee said, “She told us she had taken two full syringes out of the vile. Upon searching her purse, we also found an empty morphine vile that she had taken the week before.”
Gailey is charged with unlawful possession of a Schedule II narcotic and theft by taking.
