Local professor reacts to devastation in Nepal

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - A Georgia Southwestern professor from Nepal is asking for your prayers for his friends and family back home. A second earthquake destroyed much of what wasn't destroyed in the first quake.

More than 8-thousand people are dead. The professor says his friends in Nepal still need your prayers and donations.

"We really appreciate the international support and the international emotion that the people are getting in Nepal, and then at the same time, people in Nepal are doing their best too," said Dr. Kailash Ghimire.

Ghimire said only 2,000 homes out of 57,000 remain in his wife's hometown.
