AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -
Phoebe Sumter is one of 2 hospitals in Georgia up for a national award. The award recognizes the prettiest hospital in the nation.
72 hospitals are nominated across the nation, and votes will be taken until June 8th online. Hospital leaders say they look forward to showing off the new hospital.
"It was built in 2011 and opened just a few years ago so we have a great hospital. It's been recognized for a lot of the attributes and we'd like to make sure that's recognized nationally," said hospital CEO Brandi Lunneborg.
The hospital was built after an EF-3 tornado destroyed the old hospital. Cast your vote here.
