Investigators awaiting autopsy in Lee County fight death

LEE CO., GA (WALB) - Investigators say more charges could be filed in a deadly fight. The 5 adults and 2 juveniles made their first appearance Monday afternoon in front of a Lee County judge.

He granted them $25,000 bonds.

The group is charged with beating 50-year old Kent Adam and his son, 22-year old James Adam, at their Lee County home over the weekend. The father went to the hospital but refused medical treatment, and died later at this house.

Investigators are waiting for those autopsy results to determine a cause of death.

"What we have to do is just do a thorough investigation and take all of the information and put it together, and then with the district attorney's office, they will make the final decision as to what further charges will be brought forward," said Assistant Special Agent in Charge Mike Walsingham.

The two juveniles are being held in Macon, and it is unclear what their bond status is at this point.
