Lee Schools search for new leader

LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - Lee County School Superintendent Dr. Larry Walters gave the board his retirement letter, effective July 1st at Monday's meeting.

Dr. Walters has served as superintendent for the last 13 years in Lee County.

He held the same post in Decatur County, Alabama before that.

He has told the board he will be willing to work with his successor for a short period of time in the transition, because the Lee County School Board has been so great to work with.
