Albany law enforcement helps Habitat

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - At least a dozen Albany Police Department officers are picking up hammers and paint brushes to help get a house in the 1600 block of Sunny Lane ready for occupancy.

Officials say that this is one of the APD's on-going branches of community oriented poilicing, and officers want to give back to the community with sweat equity like this.

The Albany Police Department has carried on its Community Oriented Policing since 1994, and seems to build bridges with the citizens it serves and protects by helping out with projects like the Habitat for Humanity home building.
