ALBANY, GA (WALB) - "Green beans, black-eyed peas."
Who needs to go to the grocery store when you have cabinet full of vegetables.
Christine and Dan Bazemore have been growing and canning their own vegetables for more than 40 years.
And they grow nearly everything you can think of.
"There's the cabbage and the broccoli and stuff like that," says Dan Bazemore.
And what they don't eat right away they can or put in the freezer.
"We either eat it now or put it up," says Bazemore.
They've just pulled potatoes from the garden, and now they ready to be canned.
They say its a pretty easy process.
Bazemore says they love having homegrown fruits and vegetables.
"It tastes much better and you know exactly what's been put on them. You don't have to work about insecticides and stuff like that," he says.
And while it can take a little bit of work, the fruits of their labor, or vegetables in this case is worth the effort.
"The rewards to me is much greater than the work," he says.
