ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some Albany State University Nursing Students are beginning a new chapter in their lives.
23 graduating seniors got their pins during a pinning ceremony Friday night.
They held a moment of silence for the five Georgia Southern nursing students killed in a wreck three weeks ago.
Students took multiple courses during the three year program with clinicals twice a week.
One graduate from Columbus says it's hard to express her excitement.
"I am so excited I've waited so long," said Angelique Thomas, ASU Nursing Graduate. "We worked so hard to get here. A lot of people didn't make it but you know we worked hard and we finally got here. I'm so excited to have on my all white."
Thomas recently accepted a contingency position at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
