CORDELE, GA (WALB) - The suspect that authorities said shot a man after an argument over food has turned himself in.
Nekita Lester Jr. turned himself in to the Crisp County Jail Friday night.
Detectives took out warrants against him for two counts of aggravated assault, cruelty to children, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Cordele Police were searching for Lester Jr. after officers said he shot Dekia Appling in the leg at a home on West 15th Avenue.
According to a report, the two got in an argument over food when 26-year-old Lester Jr. shot Appling.
Police said during the fight, Lester shot Appling in the leg. The victim's four-year-old son was close enough to get hit by some shrapnel in his lower leg.
Appling and his son were treated and expected to be okay.
