Cops 'take over' a doughnut shop for Special Olympics

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Officers from the various law enforcement agencies in Albany are gathered at Krispy Kreme on North Slappey Blvd, as they team up with Georgia law enforcement to “raise dough” for the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Georgia.

The annual “Cops on Doughnut Shops” weekend in Albany started at 7 a.m. Friday,  and will end at 10 p.m. Saturday, May 9.

Local Law Enforcement Officers will collect donations from Krispy Kreme customers.

Customers who donate money to the cause will get a sweet treat in return, ranging from a free original glazed doughnut to a complimentary doughnut party for generous corporations, organizations or individuals donating $1,000 or more.
