Albany Area Arts Council recognizes young artists in the the community

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Area Arts Council honored young artists Thursday.

The council teamed up with the Albany Dougherty Historic Preservation Commission for the Historic Preservation Art Competition and Exhibit.

Sixteen year old Khalil Brown won first place in the student competition for his drawing of the Broad Avenue Bridge.

Ten year old Nathan Le came in second with his Lego model of the Chamber of Commerce building.

" Because I thought it was a very historical building because it use to be a bank and it helps out local businesses around the area," said Nathan Le, 2nd Place Winner in Student Competition

" It feels pretty good. Because I took my time and it's worth it, “said Khalil Brown,1st Place Winner in Student Competition.

Mea Anthony won first place in the Adult competition for her Farkas Building water color.

The first place winners will be on permanent display at Thronateeska Heritage Center.
