Reputed gang leader indicted

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The man thought to be the leader of the Black Gangsta Disciples is accused of ordering gang members to shoot up two homes, and trying to kill people inside.

Alfarus Clay was indicted on eight counts of aggravated assault and four counts of street gang terrorism.

Prosecutors say on December 13th, he ordered gang members to shoot into homes on Twin Flower Road and Valencia Drive. Four people were hurt.

Prosecutors aren't sure of the exact motive.

"If a person is identified as a gang leader that might result if a person is convicted of such a charge in enhanced punishment as a gang leader," said Greg Edwards, Dougherty D. A.

Clay could be sentenced to more than 100 years in prison.
