WALB viewers help with 2 year old hit and run

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Baconton man is indicted for hit and run, and prosecutors say WALB's viewers helped identify the suspect.

52 year old Dwayne Hogan was indicted by the Grand Jury Wednesday night.

Prosecutors say two years ago, on May 17, 2013, Hogan was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck when he struck 33 year old James Hunt of Putney in the 3900 block of Radium Springs Road.

Hunt was hospitalized in intensive care for a week, but survived.

"Via the media, via your station, the information identifying the defendant as a potential suspect was brought forth," said Greg Edwards, Dougherty D. A.

If convicted of hit and run, Hogan could face up to five years in prison.
