Thornton Drive fire was clearly arson

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany fire crews and police responded to a house fire in the 100 block of Thornton Drive, which is certainly a case of arson. In fact, this is the second time in six months that the house has burned.

The house and two outbuildings were set a ablaze.

Witness Juston Wright says around 4:20 Wednesday morning, he was walking down the street with his cousin when the two saw flames coming out of the home and a shed out back.

His cousin knocked down the front door while Wright checked around the home. No one appeared to be inside and the two called 911.

The fires were put out quickly, according to witnesses.

Fire officials say the blaze is suspicious, since there was no power connected to the home. AFD's arson investigators are on scene to examine the damage.
