Americus veterinarians help pet owners with rabies vaccinations

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

Veterinarians in Americus are making it easy for pet owners to get their animals vaccinated.

This evening, Dr. Clinton Holloway held a Rabies clinic outside Ernies Heating and Air.

The shots cost just $10.

It's one of 12 clinics Holloway is holding all over Sumter County this month to protect pets and people.

“When they come into contact with wild animals that have rabies they can have rabies and actually give it to you before you have any symptoms. The virus is in the saliva and actually don't have to bite you. You can have a scratch on your arm and get the saliva that's infected,” said Dr. Clinton Holloway, Veterinarian.

Another clinic will be held tomorrow at Brownlee's Grocery from 6 to 7:15 p.m.
