DAWSON, GA (WALB) - A Dawson kidney transplant recipient has a message of hope for others who need a transplant.
Sixty-eight-year-old Elizabeth Hylick was on dialysis for 12 years and the transplant waiting list for 6 years.
Doctors told her a blood problem would make it difficult to find a match.
She said getting a new kidney in January was a miracle and she encourages others waiting on a transplant not to give up.
"Keep the faith, don't give up. Like it was my day in January it can be their day tomorrow and I encourage anybody that has any kind of working organ to be a donor," said Elizabeth Hylick Kidney, recipient.
Hylick's family and friends are raising money to help her with medical and travel expenses to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
