ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Small businesses are being honored as the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates Small Business Week.
Workers at Icons Bar and Grill in downtown Albany said their business is steadily increasing and they hope to see more customers once the new Broad Avenue Bridge opens soon.
Soon-to-be ASU graduate Devino West said working at the bar has inspired him to open up his own business.
"Working here and shadowing the owner has basically enlightened me on the business side of owning an establishment. He's showed me the do's and don'ts of how to manage a company and to make it grow and become successful," said Devino West, Icons Bar and Grill Employee.
At least 95% of businesses in Georgia have fewer than 50 employees.
Albany Chamber will present the Small Business of the Year Award Thursday night.
