Debate continues over how to make a Dougherty County intersection safer.
A lot of residents showed up at the county commission meeting to speak out against two proposals from the D-O-T for changes at the Nelms Road and Highway 19 intersection.
One would allow only right turns from Nelms.
The other would allow right and left turns... but both would no longer allow drivers to cross over Highway 19.
Some drivers don't like that.
Resident James Harmon is a truck driver he says "A u-turn is the most dangerous procedure a tractor trailer can make. And there will be fatal accidents with these tractor trailers trying to make these u-turns."
Resident Bobby Nettles says "What we really need is a traffic light, very simple, straight forward everybody understands traffic lights
The state says there's not enough traffic to put up a stop light.
