ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Volunteers from the Albany Army Recruiting Center helped Habitat for Humanity on Friday.
It's part of the Army Recruiting Command's community day. All across the country and in Germany more than four thousand volunteers will participate in different community activities.
The group helped go through inventory and move some heavy items around.
"I think it's important because it shows that we are not just a global force," said SSgt Chase Downey. "We don't just go overseas and support America. We do a lot right here for everyone in the states and we like to show that we are willing and able and here for everyone."
He says it's also a way for soldiers to make a positive impact in their community.
