Tift County high schoolers got a lesson in safety before their prom.
Several agencies took part in an annual prom safety event at the school. Various booths were set up, including a D-U-I simulator to remind students about the dangers of drinking and driving.
"We still have a lot of DUIs. This will hopefully sink in the majority of them, but sadly to say some won't pick up on it," said Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough.
"Many times they get excited and they make bad choices this time of year, we do not want that to happen to our students at Tift County High School," said Kim Seigler, the Tift County High School Principal.
Tift County High School's prom is Saturday night.
