Lt. Governor Casey Cagle spoke at Albany Tech's Spring commencement.
He worked on legislation Governor Deal signed today to expand dual enrollment opportunities.
Cagle believes the laws will boost workforce production.
"If we're going to continue to be the number one state to do business in we have to be continually committed to workforce development,” said Lt. Governor Casey Cagle. “There's a skills gap that exist within our state and certainly within our country and we want to make sure that more kids are on those career pathways because that's what industry needs."
Cagle has helped establish 34 College and Career Acadamies across the state.
He says Albany leaders are putting together an application to try to bring a new academy to our area.
