Missing Florida woman found safe in South Georgia

SCHLEY CO., GA (WALB) - A missing Florida woman is back with family, after being found in South Georgia early Thursday morning. 78-year old Susan Boxx was believed to have been kidnapped after her Jacksonville house was found burglarized.

A Georgia State Trooper found her with her broken down car on U-S 19 north of Ellaville early Thursday morning. A Schley County deputy took her to get breakfast before taking her to be checked at Phoebe Sumter.

"We out here working every day and our main objective is to serve the people and the police ain't always bad. There's a lot of good in us," said Schley County Sheriff Shane Tondee.

Her son tells WALB he is thankful for the work done by all of the law enforcement agencies involved.
