Looking for one suspect, drug agents find another

COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) - Deputies went to a house Wednesday trying to find a suspect to serve a warrant, but they couldn't find him, and arrested Ramon Ortiz, 38, at his home on Sand Hill Church Road in Douglas, instead.

Officers found a quantity of pain pills, anti-depressants, ecstasy, and over 2½ ounces of methamphetamine, and called in the drug unit.

Along with the illegal contraband, detectives seized an ATV and a motorcycle Ortiz said he had purchased with drug money. Officers on scene also located several items suspected to be taken from burglaries and thefts across the county.

Ortiz has been charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and several counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Ortiz possibly faces charges related to the items believed to be stolen property, as well as at least one firearm. The investigation continues.
