VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - W. G. Nunn Elementary School third graders have won a National Math Challenge.
Their teacher, Lisa Daw, and her class were congratulated by DreamBox Learning for being one out of 20 classrooms nationwide to win their National Math Challenge.
Along with this distinction came individual student certificates, wristbands, and a $100.00 class pizza party.
Dreambox Learning is an online adaptive math program that adapts to meet each student's educational needs while working within the program in an engaging learning environment.
DreamBox Learning constantly assesses a student while they are working. Each time a student clicks, the program assesses response time, accuracy of responses, complexity of strategies and other behaviors the student uses to get their answers.
DreamBox provides conceptual understanding and fluency with rigorous math, motivating environment, and adaptive experience.
The competition included all K-8 DreamBox classrooms where students averaged five or more lessons per week at home or at school with the classroom teacher tracking student progress.
