ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Refinancing debt on the downtown Albany Hilton Garden Inn will save taxpayers money.
Tuesday night, commissioners approved a five year re-financing on what the city owes.
It could save the city at least $300,000 which can be spent on other needs.
" When you think of city government it's not a lot of money but it is a sum that could help supplement pot holes, street repair and things of that nature and help promote some of the common things citizens need,” said Tommie Postell , Albany Commissioner
The city contributed more than 4-million dollars to the hotel construction project more than 8 years ago.
