ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Nearly 100 Albany middle school students are being rewarded for their hard work. The group from Southside Middle School will leave for Busch Gardens in Tampa this Saturday.
Students who maintained passing grades, missed less than 3 classes, and had no behavioral referrals will attend the trip. Two of the students are especially excited about the reward.
"We work hard all year but we don't have nothing to look forward to at the end so now that we have, I guess it, it helps us work harder," said 8th grader Shanya Henderson.
"I've never been to Busch gardens before, and I always wanted to go," said 8th grader Caleb Watts. "I heard it's very fun, the rollercoasters; it's a very excited place to be."
The principal says attendance increased 4% after this trip was announced.
