ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of people were at Heritage Bank to shred some old documents today. It's all part of the shred-a-thon. Crews shredded personal documents for folks at no cost.
People brought in old tax returns, bank statements, and other papers. Organizers said it's important to shred these documents, and not just throw them away.

They hold the event every year in April.
