ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Prosecutors and law enforcers wrap up National Crime Victims' Rights Week with a cookout in Albany.
They teamed up with volunteers and victims advocates for a barbecue at Tift Park.
Crime victims and there families learned about services available to them, including financial help.
"We can assist these victim's with their medical bills," said Bryanne Smith, Victim Advocate, Dougherty DA's office. "We can assist them with the funeral bill. And, it helps a victim get on their feet where they've not got all these bills pilling up on them, due to the crime that they did not ask for."
The free event was open to anyone and also included live music and activities for kids.
