TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Georgia Power Employees are raising money for cancer by running across the state.

They passed through Tifton tonight on the 18th annual Run for the Reason.

They started on St.Simons Island at midnight.

Three teams of six runners will take turns running 4 hour legs.

"Well I have a passion for it,” said Bruce Feiman, Chairman. “We've all had family members or friends we've lost to cancer, we want to find a cure. Whatever we can do and this is our small way of doing this."

The runners plan to end at the Georgia Power Plant in Heard County on Sunday around noon.

They've raised more than a million dollars for the American Cancer Society over 18 years.
