Morgan Bass remembered for her kind nature and smile

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Flags are flying at half staff around the state today to remember the five nursing students killed in a crash this week.

Casy Schoenberger and Morgan Bass were friends since the 10th grade.

Bass was known for wearing her favorite pink lip gloss.

"It didn't matter if she was in sweat pants and a t-shirt that had stains on it. She still had that bright pink lip gloss on," says Casy Schoenberger

Schoenberger says she last saw Bass on Thanksgiving, and they talked a lot about nursing school.

"She had that passion and that love, just caring for her patients, I can just imagine how many people she has touched even being a student," says Schoenberger.

And she says even her classmates, who didn't know Bass, are saddened by the news of her death.

"I think that this has been a huge tragedy for so many people, I can't even imagine how many people this has touched, I had a friend of mine that didn't know her, but she's in nursing school, and she just started balling," she says.

Schoenberger says while her best friend's death is sudden, she's keeping faith with God to help get her get through this tough time.

"I'm having a hard time grasping that but I'm just trusting in God, and he is going to be glorified through this, and through her life, because that is what she would want," says Schoenberger.
