FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) - A Fitzgerald doctor is jail charged with helping a woman sell prescription drugs.
Ben Hill County Sheriff Bobby McLemore says Shannon Benedict charges with three counts of scheduled narcotic sales and three counts possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of school.
Dr. Ed Jones is charged with 3rd party of the crime. Both were arrested last night at Benedict's home at 106 Terry Avenue.
Ben Hill County, GBI, the State Medical Board and DEA are all taking part of the case.
More charges are expected.
