ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some Korean War veterans met in South Georgia for a reunion today. They had their first reunion in 2007, after more than 50 years. Now, they try to meet up every few years.
They got together at the Cracker Barrel in Albany Thursday afternoon.
Joe Wagner drove all the way from Tennessee and Osbern Henley came from Alabama. Wyatt Smith is from Doerun, and Curtis Adams lives in Leary.
"We realized that as time passes chances are more of us will be gone later and we're just trying to get together as often as we can," said Wyatt Smith.
"It's great. I doubt that any of us thought we'd be living this day. But it's great to get together again," said Curtis Adams,
"Everybody was pretty close and we'd like to keep it that way," said Joe Wagner.
They were sent to Germany during the Korean War and served in the same battalion together in 1951.
