ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is recognized for its Cancer Program.
It earned three-year accreditation with Commendation by the Commission of Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
Hospital officials said that means they continue to exceed standard requirements to provide quality care for their patients.
"This is an assurance for the patients in the region that the care they are getting and receiving at this institution is of the highest quality and that it's being monitored by a body that is really dedicated to providing good cancer care across the United States," said Clifford Buell, Administration Director of Oncology Service.
The center serves about 1400 new patients each year.
