Another Albany truck torched by arsonist

Albany Fire Investigators are hunting  a serial arsonist, who they believe has set vehicles on fire across the city in the last two days.

Tuesday afternOon about One o-clock someone set fire to the gas tank cap on Cassie Clark's truck parked in the 300 block of Southwood Drive.  The gas cap  melted and fire damaged the paint.

This fire was almost identical to two vehicles damaged by arsons in the exact same manner on East Residence.

Witnesses spotted a young boy in that area, and  Investigators are trying to locate him.

Albany Fire Department Investigator Sam Harris said "We're looking for a 9 or 10 year old male subject that was walking down the street.  We're working with the school system to try and identify who he was. And hopefully we can get a lead for that."

Investigators are concerned that someone setting the gas cap on fire could result in a large fire, or even explosion.  If you have any information about these vehicle arsons, call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.  You could earn a reward.
