MEIGS, GA - A canceled city council meeting has the mayor of Meigs frustrated, and ready to change how the city is run.
Mayor Linda Harris says she got a phone call minutes before Monday's meeting, saying it had been canceled.
The city manager says it was because not enough council members were able to attend, but Mayor Harris believes it was because the city was not prepared to discuss budgeting and personnel issues on the agenda.
"The citizens here in the city of Meigs are already angry about several of the issues that are going on in the city. And they had come up here to address that issue. Then come to find out, it's been canceled," she said.
The mayor said the next meeting will not be held until May 18th, but the city manager says he's willing to schedule a special called meeting this month.
