Tifton celebrates Cities Week

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Small towns across Georgia are celebrating Cities Week.

Downtown Tifton took part Tuesday night outside the library with a carnival complete with food and activities.

Kids got to test out a police car.

Mayor Jamie Cater said it's a great way to showcase downtown.

“We're just excited about downtown. Downtown is growing. We've got new businesses coming in. Downtown is really looking better to me than it has in a long, long time,” said Jamie Cater, Tifton Mayor.

Cities Week will continue with a re-grand opening of Tifton City Hall on Thursday and a shop and dine downtown Friday.

An E-Cycling event Saturday will be from 9 a.m. to Noon.
