ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany and Dougherty County leaders are joining forces for Victims awareness week.
They read a Proclamation and laid a wreath during a ceremony today during to honor crime victims. There was also a bake sale to raise money to pay for Victims Rights Week activities. Leaders say the focus is to let people know of the resources that are out there.
"A lot of victims are not aware that there's help for them too. And so that's why we make them aware as victims that we're here for you too," Tammy Dobbins said.
Both the city and the county will continue with more events for Victim awareness we this week.
