The Civil Air Patrol cut the ribbon on their new headquarters inside the Equinox Chemical Building.
The 7,000 square foot facility will house their training, research, and warehouse equipment.
"We've outgrown the facility that we were using over at the airport so this was such a great convenient location for the squadron to locate and we just had some additional office space that we weren't utilizing. It's a good opportunity for everybody involved," said Mark Grimaldi, First Lieutenant.
The Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.
Members help with search and rescue and disaster relief operations.
The Albany squadron has more than 50 cadets and senior members and is one of the oldest in the state dating back to 1942.
