Albany High Times: Brownies special ingredient was marijuana

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County School System Police Chief Troy Conley says three Albany High students were taken to the hospital today, after they are believed to have eaten marijuana-laced brownies.

Conley says 19-year-old Justin Crutchfield, who is a student at the school, has admitted the brownies he brought to school on Monday contained marijuana. DCSS Police are awaiting test results to confirm that.

Crutchfield has been taken to the Dougherty County Jail, charged with disrupting a public school, and could face other charges, depending on the lab results of the brownies.

Conley estimates some fifteen or twenty students ate the brownies, and medical staff treated some of them at the school, after the students started showing erratic behavior, and elevated pulse rates and blood pressure.

Conley says police are now working to find out why Crutchfield brought the brownies to school.
