ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dozens of men wear high heels promoting awareness of sexual assaults.

The Lily Pad hosted their fifth annual fundraiser "Walk A Mile In Her Shoes."

More than 70 men wore red high heels as they walked or ran around the Deerfield Windsor Track.

The executive director for the Lily Pad says it's important for men to bring awareness to the issues of sexual assaults.

"So many men are the ones that are accused of these crimes,” said Mary Martinez-Allen, Executive Director of the Lily Pad. “It's not always men, but I think it shows our community that there are men out there that are standing up for these victims. There's men out there willing to say hey I'm doing whatever I can to prevent these things."

A contest was held for "Best Legs" and "Fastest Walker." The Lily Pad hopes to raise $25,000 for the event.
