Albany Police search for motel killer

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

WALB has learned the name of the victim in the Thursday night shooting at an Albany motel. Police say 38 year old Kendrick Miller was shot and killed.

It happened at America's Best Value Inn on North Slappey Boulevard about 8:15 p.m. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead around 9:00.

Police have said what may have led to the shooting. We're waiting on word on possible suspects.

Back in October, Mayor Dorothy Hubbard told us city leaders were looking for ways to cut down on crime in this area. It's one of the main gateways into Albany, but police and drug agents say they often respond to reports of drugs, prostitution, and other crimes at several motels in the 2500 - 2700 blocks of North Slappey.
