Albany Tech holding career fair at Civic Center

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Technical College is holding a unique career fair at the Albany Civic Center. They're targeting city and county government workers who are ready to retire from those jobs but still want to work.

Albany Tech is displaying different majors and programs they have. There's programs for construction, medicine, engineering, and hospitality management. The college wanted to give these people a way to look at other jobs that could be out there for them.

"They've perhaps completed a career, 20 or 30 years in one industry, and now they know they're going to work another 10 or 15 years, but they don't know what they want to do so it's an opportunity for them to explore. It's really an exploration," said Beth Brown with Albany Technical College.

The event will last until 7:30 Thursday night. If you can't make it tonight, no need to worry. They'll be back Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM.
