Sylvester PD wants armed robber

SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - Sylvester Police are looking for any leads and information that may lead them to an armed robbery suspect.

Just before midnight Wednesday night, Worth County 911 received a call about an armed robbery that had taken place on the outside of J & J Grocery Store, at 506 East Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., near the dumpster.

Babulul Patel, a 26 year old store clerk, said he was taking trash to the dumpster just after 11:00PM, when a man wearing all black clothing with white shoes, came from around the building, and put a small black hand gun to Patel's head and demanded money.

Patel gave the man his wallet which contained cash, and a $25.00 phone card.

There were no injuries and no gun fire during the robbery.

The criminal was described as a young black man, approximately 5' 6" to 5' 9",

If anyone has information or knowledge of this case, contact Sylvester Police at 776-8219 or Albany Crime Stoppers at 436-TIPS.
