Albany organization fights child abuse

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A non-profit organization partnered with a bank to raise awareness about child abuse. Necco put 72 pinwheels near Flint Community Bank on Meredyth Drive.

That's how many children are under Necco's care now due to abuse. Their goal is to raise awareness of the community's role in protecting children.

"If you know of child abuse, you're mandated to report the abuse. You can report to your local DFCS office. We're just trying to bring awareness to the community to protect our children," said Charis Lirette with Necco.

Necco is also looking for potential foster parents. If you're interested call 229-299-5095 or visit their website at www.necco.org.
