Valdosta police investigate possible chase, shots fired incident

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Valdosta Police were trying to figure out Tuesday afternoon what happened when an argument between two men reportedly led to gunfire.

According to police, the men were arguing at 725 N. Troup St. about 12:30 p.m. when one man pulled a shotgun.

The other man got in his car and drove off, but the man with the gun followed him. The victim told police the gunman fired at him as they drove down N. Troup St., but VPD had not confirmed late Tuesday afternoon if, in fact, he had been shot at.

"Officers in the area up here on Stillwater were able to locate what we believe to be the white pick up truck," said Valdosta Police Department Lt. Aaron Kirk. "They also located a shotgun nearby the pick up truck."

The truck and was located at 904 Stillwater Dr. and the shotgun was located in a trash can outside the home. VPD searched the home and the area, but no one was located.

No one was hurt.

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, VPD had not released the names of either man and no suspects had been arrested.
